What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle but powerful Japanese Healing System rooted in love, compassion, and kindness.  It was founded by Usui Mikao in the latter half of the 19th century in Japan.  Reiki translated means “spiritual energy”.  This energy is already all around us, inside of us, and available to us.  Reiki is a tool that can awaken this energy and begin to heal our lives.

Many people are not aware that Reiki is, first and fore-most, a spiritual discipline.  If studied as a student, you would learn very specific practices that when incorporated in to daily life, would provide you with a foundation for spiritual transformation and healing.

As a healing service, Reiki is delivered with a light touch on or above the body. When you receive a Reiki treatment, your body draws the Reiki energy from the practitioner’s hands and, in turn, this energy seeks to clear any blocks or stagnation in your energy field. When your “Ki” or energy is free and flowing, the body, mind, and spirit come back into balance, creating the best opportunity for healing.
